Always Veranito with Magally and her daughters

Always Veranito with Magally and her daughters

For our next veranito escape we met Magally, the woman behind our favorite wellness hub in Madrid LaMarca Well, and mother to two daughters and a new baby on the way. A getaway full of seashell hunting, mangoes and lots of naps under the shade.

You escaped to…
The Caribbean (The Grenadines Islands)

..with…
My husband, two girls and the baby on the way.

Summer feelings: to you, how does summer…
…taste like: fruits, lime, water, freshness.
…sound like: waves, wind, birds, calm.
…feel like: warmth, wet, breeze, freedom, calm, peace. The sun in my skin, the water every time I swim, the breeze every time I sail or kite surf, my children's bare hugs with almost no clothes on. Bare feet on the sand or shore. The freedom of not wearing shoes or heavy clothing. The sense of calm that lets me really enjoy a book or go to bed early, the being present to enjoy the littlest things like a sunset or a sunrise.
…look like: sunny, colorful, playful, naked.
…smells like: sea, fruits, salt, coconut.

Your favorite activities with your daughters?
- Swimming is my number one. Enjoying the water with them has been one of my favorite things to do since they were born. The eldest is now swimming like a mermaid and we enjoy going under water together to look at fish and turtles.
- Sailing. Almost always ending in an incredible nap.
- Napping together.
- Exploring the beach chasing birds or shell hunting.
- Sharing fruits: a coconut or some mangoes.
- Taking a shower together at the end of the day, even better if its an outdoor shower.
- Watching the Sunrise and Sunset: “saying hello and goodbye to the sun, or hello to the moon”.
Your favorite summer rituals?
- Waking up early together on the same bed, watch the sunrise and start a slow paced morning.
- Going for a swim first thing we arrive at the beach.
- Any form of movement: swimming, kitesurfing or paddle boarding
- Napping together almost daily.
- Showering together after a long beach day.

Where to watch the sunset?
Sitting at the beach, boat, beach bar or dock.

You are at your happiest when…
We are all barefoot, salty, tan and free.
With a clear work schedule, really enjoying being present: Waking up, slow mornings, getting in bed early with a tired but incredible feeling that only summer at the beach gives you.

A souvenir to bring home with you?
A beeded necklace or bracelet, a pareo (sarong), a t shirt or a handicraft to wear from the place we visited.

Your summer playlist always includes…
Some reggae for sure (Bob Marley or Junior Murvin)
Enya
“Moana” songs for the girls, they love them.
Some soft house music.

A book for you? And for for the girls?
Currently reading “Women that run with the wolves” and re reading my favorite pregnancy books “The Gentle Birth Method” and “Enchanted lives, Magical Begginings”. The last one is by Deepak Choprah and I’ve read it in the summer during my 3 pregnancies. It is really magical and helps you connect with all your senses, your baby and your pregnancy.
For the girls I love to buy books in local stores with stories written by the locals, almost everytime you can find some of those.
